Chief Research Officer
Steve leads CLASP’s Research program which aims to evaluate and promote the multiple benefits of energy efficient appliances to mitigate climate change and drive global access to distributed renewable energy. He oversees development of next-generation analytical models to quantify the greenhouse gas reduction potential of on-grid and off-grid appliances. Steve is developing CLASP’s energy efficiency thought leadership by identifying and communicating about high priority opportunities for technology innovation and policy progress. Steve joined CLASP in 2011 from ICF International, where he led a technical team supporting the US EPA’s ENERGY STAR program. He has a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University. When not at work, Steve enjoys reading to his three daughters and cooking big meals for his family.
